Welcome to the web site of Karyn Colman & Jari Nirhamo (Nyrakym and Samaljankan Kennels). Here you will find pictures and information about some of the Alaskan Malamutes and Samoyeds who share (or have shared) our lives, as well as some more general information about Malamutes and a brief history of our "kennels". We hope you enjoy your visit and we look forward to hearing from you.
We breed about once a year, aiming to produce puppies for ourselves first (with those attributes and pedigrees that we wish to perpetuate in our breeding program) and also to provide healthy and sound (both physically and mentally) family pets for the discerning public. All puppies and older dogs are sold with a money-back guarantee, as detailed in our sales contract (please visit our Contracts page for more information). Our dogs are presently screened for hip and elbow dysplasia using the OFA scheme in the US (previously using the UK BVA/KC and/or Finnish or Swedish National Kennel Club official schemes), and for hereditary eye conditions by CERF on a regular basis. We have recently started to screen for autoimmune thyroiditis (considered to be the leading cause of hereditary hypothyroidism) using the OFA scheme. We also use the AMCA certification scheme for chondrodysplasia.
