The puppies are now 2 weeks old and growing well. Eyes are open and they are starting to investigate their surroundings.

Sadly we didn’t manage to keep the tiny seal girl going so now we have 5 healthy, robust puppies keeping Mom busy! We have the one grey boy, two grey girls and 2 seal girls.

M started her labour in the late evening yesterday and produced 6 pups in the wee hours of this morning. He has 5 girls (3 seals and two greys) and one (yes, just one) boy. He’s a grey. One seal girl is much smaller than the others but is doing OK.

M is pregnant and expecting 6 puppies, we think, around the 4th April. If you are interested in a puppy from this litter, please go to our “upcoming puppies” page (see link to the left) and complete our puppy inquiry form so we can match up owner(s) & puppy for a long and happy relationship. We screen our puppy buyers and are careful to ensure the puppy and new family have the best chance of meeting each others needs. Malamutes are not the right breed for everyone, they need lots of exercise and mental stimulation if they are not to become bored, destructive or “inventive”, so please do your homework and decide if they are really what you are looking for. If you have any questions about the breed or our dogs, please do get in touch with us.

On Wednesday 13th, three of our puppies left us to go to their new homes in California. Bela (Red 3), Thunder (Grey boy) and Mali (Grey girl). They flew Continental & arrived safe & sound, apparently cheerful & ready to meet their new owners! We wish them all (puppies & owners) many wonderful times over the years & look forward to receiving updates & photos of them all as they grow up. With luck we will have some real nice show brags on Thunder once he’s ready to hit the rings!
So now, we have Bijou (Red 1 – staying with us), Tikka (Red 2 – waiting to go to her new home at the end of the month) and Caesar (Sable boy – also staying here with us) keeping us busy & stopping us from missing the other three quite so much.

At last, here are the pictures at 8 weeks of age. The puppies are in the following order – grey male, grey girl, red 1 (girl), red 2 (girl), red 3 (girl), sable boy. Also, if you roll your mouse over each thumbnail you will be able to see which puppy it is – a small text box will come up. If you click on the thumbnail, a larger picture will appear. Click on the picture again and it will take you back to the thumbnails. You can also navigate back & forth with the large pictures by clicking on the little arrows (<< or >>) at the bottom, but you will not get the info on which puppy is which.
