DASHA'S RIO GRANDEborn: 23rd December 1991Rio passed away on the morning of 12th September 2004 at 12 1/2 years of age. He was originally imported into Finland from Marjorie Hueston in Canada (Dasha Samoyeds), and he returned to his native land in August of 1999! He was a typical Sammy, full of fun & as cute and cuddly as can be. Even at 12 years of age, he was still full of energy and raring to go. He kept all the older Malamutes on their toes & feeling young! He also loved to play with the puppies, showing much patience and kindness and taught his son, Solo, how to take care of himself amongst all the Malamutes. He was never bred at Samaljankan kennels but
was used by Elise Lehtinen of
the reknowned Ikiliikkujan kennel in Finland (Ikiliikkujan Samoyeds) and also by Valerie Bell and,
for the last time at almost 11 years of age, by his own breeder, Marjorie Hueston together with Valerie Bell, in Halifax, Canada
(Lucerne Samoyeds and Dasha Samoyeds). He has produced some lovely, very typy and successful offspring. Some of these
