AM/CAN CH U-GRCH NYRAKYM SKYWALKER SAMALJANKAN, ROMborn: 27th May 2003Skye is our second singleton pup from a frozen semen breeding born by C-section. This time it was our Star/Wookie combination. She is full of spirit and is such a sweetie. She loves to rough-house with Solo, our Sammy, and gives her Mom a run for her money! Skye was bred to Sisu in early 2006 and produced a lovely litter of puppies in 2006. Bred to a red dog from the West coast in 2008 she produced one super puppy (Tycho) and we repeated the breeding in 2009, when she produced another lovely litter, with REDS! 5 of her offspring have finished their AKC Championship giving her the AMCA Register of Merit (ROM) award. She made her show debut in the US at the Crown Classic shows in Cleveland, Ohio and did us real proud by winning the Great Lakes Regional Specialty Grand Sweeps at just 6 months and 18 days! Skye has continued to do very well in the US, winning a total of 3 Grand Sweepstakes at Specialties, as well as finishing her American Championship at under 2 years of age with 4 majors, the last at an AMCA Area Specialty with Best of Winners. In 2004 Skye was the #1 Puppy in the AMCA New England area and in 2005 she was AMCA's #7 Class bitch overall!! In Canada she finished in very short-shrift and qualified for the 2005 AMCC Top 25 competition as the #6 female in the country, despite limited showing in Canada in 2004. Skye took a Group 4th in her practice run for the 2005 AMCC National Specialty and after that little warm up, at the AMCC National Specialty she won Best of Opposite Sex!! At the 2005 AMCA National Specialty in Columbus, Indiana, she won Grand Maturity to the delight of many spectators and she made the cut for the Regional Specialty just prior. Many folks have said how beautiful she is &, boy, CAN SHE MOVE!!! We would like to thank all those long-time breeders and Malamute fanciers who have been so complimentary. Special thanks to Joe Hug (Adair N' Hug), Mary-Jane Holabach (Williwaw), Vicky Jones (Vykon) and last, but not least, Joanne Levy (Chena) for thinking so highly of our seal girl and rewarding her with Grand Sweeps and Grand Maturity wins. Rarely shown as a mature dog (due to maternal duties), Skye went to the 2008 AMCC National Specialty in Ontario where she won BOB and Group 2 under James White (with very stiff competition) on the day before the Specialty and then won the 1st AOM at the Specialty under Dr John Reeve-Newson, qualifying for the AMCC Top 25 competition in 2009. At the 2010 AMCA National Specialty, at 7 years of age, Skye won 5th AOM under breeder-judge Shilon Bedford! WE LOVE THIS GIRL!!!
