BIS BISS AM/CAN/Fin/RUSSIAN CH FINW-07 DASHA LUCERNE'S SOLO ACTborn: 14th March 2003Solo came to join us in late May from Dasha and Lucerne as the one & only puppy from Rio's last ever litter. He is just too cute and has personality to spare. He settled in fast & enjoyed romping around the back yard with Sisu, Skye, Blackie, Doris, M, Vega, well just about all the girls.... I guess Solo will always believe he is a Malamute with a Sammy smile ....... In the show ring, Solo has really showed us who's who!! He started young, at 3 months of age, by winning Best in Match & Best Puppy in Match. At his second set of shows in the US he won Best of Winners every day for three days, winning Best of Opposite on one day beating two male specials AND winning a Group 1st in the Puppy Working Group!! Then, in Canada, at his second set of shows, he did it again!! He won Best Puppy in Group on the Sunday, won BOW every day and at the next set of shows he finished on Saturday with a BOB win on Friday and BOW on Saturday, becoming a Canadian Champion as a Junior Puppy. After a brief but stellar career in the US thus far, he finished his American Championship at 12 1/2 months of age with 4 consecutive Best of Winners awards and three majors. As a "teenager" he was taken out only occasionally and placed in the group or made the cut almost every time. In 2005 Solo was the #4 Samoyed in Canada. During the year he was a multi-group winning/placing dog and won first Award of Merit at the Samoyed Club of Ontario Specialty in July and Best of Opposite Sex at the Samoyed Association of Canada's National Specialty in August 2005. In 2006 Solo had a great year with multiple group wins & placements, culminating in an owner-handled all-breed Best In Show win!! He finished the year as #2 Samoyed in Canada. In 2007 he had a much quieter year but still won several group placements and a group win plus he was in the final cut of 12 male specials (out of 92) at the Samoyed Club of America's National Specialty in Pennsylvania. He then went to Finland where he finished easily at his second show, with a Group 2. Solo is still in Finland and has several group placements to his credit. He is half way to his FCI International Championship. In June 2009, Solo won Best in Show at the Finnish Samoyed Club's National Specialty under breeder judge Rafael Garcia (Spain) - we hope he will get his International Championship soon... He has been bred several times and produced some very nice puppies in the US and in Finland. In Finland, his daughter "Rosie" has been doing very well, winning puppy group placements and Best Opposite Sex Puppy in Show at a special puppy show in Helsinki. |
